CEO's Jab At Patent Law Costs InnoLux Double Royalties

Law360, New York (October 4, 2011, 9:38 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge on Friday ordered InnoLux Corp. to pay Mondis Technology Ltd. $1.9 million in Mondis’ infringement suit over computer monitor and television patents, and doubled the royalty rate InnoLux will pay in the suit after its CEO knocked U.S. patent enforcement.

U.S. District Judge T. John Ward said he ordered an ongoing royalty rate of 0.75 percent for the allegedly infringed televisions, but increased the penalty from 0.75 percent to 1.5 percent for computer monitors in part because InnoLux's CEO was recently quoted...
