Nike Wins 'Fuel' Trademark Row in SC Federal Court

By Aaron Vehling (May 30, 2014, 2:46 PM EDT) -- Nike Inc. on Wednesday came out ahead in a suit brought by Fuel Clothing Co. Inc. over use of the "Fuel" mark on some of Nike's products, following a South Carolina federal judge's dismissal of trademark infringement and unfair competition claims against the athletic clothing giant.

Senior District Judge Margaret B. Seymour signed off on a resolution in Nike's favor and for both companies agreeing to pay their own legal fees. The order closes the book on a dispute over Nike's use of Fuel Clothing's alleged trademark on clothing and its activity-tracking FuelBand bracelets.
