Jameson Distiller Says Napa Winery Can't Use 'Jamieson'

Law360, New York (July 15, 2014, 6:19 PM ET) -- The maker of Jameson Irish Whiskey formally accused a California winery of trademark infringement Monday over the Napa winemaker's “Jamieson Ranch Vineyards” brand name.

The filing came four months after Jamieson Ranch operator Madison Vineyard Holdings LLC lodged a declaratory judgment suit against Jameson-maker Irish Distillers Ltd. — a lawsuit prompted by a cease-and-desist letter the Dublin-based Pernod Ricard SA subsidiary sent over the name.
