Mega Wants Lego IP Case Tossed Under ITC Pilot Program

Law360, New York (February 23, 2015, 6:40 PM EST) -- Mega Brands Inc. is urging the U.S. International Trade Commission to handle Lego A/S's recent patent and copyright allegations under an agency pilot program designed to quickly end weak cases, saying there was no way the Danish toy giant could meet the ITC's so-called domestic industry requirement.

Lego hit the Mega Bloks maker with cases in the International Trade Commission and in federal court earlier this month, accusing the company of ripping off its successful Lego Friends line, which is aimed at girls. The case was the latest in decades of IP litigation between the rival block makers.
