Rival 'O'Keefe' Law Firms Settle Trademark Fight

Law360 (March 8, 2018, 2:55 PM EST) -- Two small Chicago law firms, both named "O'Keefe" and both focusing on tax law, reached a settlement Wednesday to end a trademark fight over their shared use of the surname.

According to a joint filing, O'Keefe Lyons & Hynes LLC, a 10-attorney firm founded in 1937, has agreed to drop infringement claims against crosstown rival O’Keefe Law Firm, which started using the name in 2012.
