Ex-Pa. Judge Apologizes For Affair With Defendant's Girlfriend

By Matt Fair (November 8, 2018, 7:18 PM EST) -- An ex-Pennsylvania judge facing discipline for exchanging sexually explicit text messages and eventually sleeping with the girlfriend of a man participating in a court-mandated rehab program he oversaw told a state ethics panel on Thursday that he regretted his conduct.

Michael Shaw, a former magisterial district judge in Bradford County who was found in violation of a slew of ethics rules in July, told the state's Court of Judicial Discipline that he was embarrassed to have had his career derailed as a result of sexual misconduct and that he was sorry.
