Fired Dentons Atty Wants Calif. Court To Pause Arbitration

Law360 (June 10, 2021, 3:42 PM EDT) -- An attorney who contends Dentons wrongfully axed him after he tried to prevent the firm from diverting tens of millions of dollars away from a China-based client wants a California federal court to pause an arbitration proceeding that the firm initiated against him.

Jinshu "John" Zhang wants the Central District of California to pause the proceeding so it can rule on whether a judge or an arbitrator is the person who can determine that arbitration is appropriate, based on a clause in his partnership agreement, according to his motion for a temporary restraining order.
