Judge Rules For Abbott In Biaxin Patent Battle

Law360 (June 5, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge with a federal district court in Illinois has granted Abbott Laboratories a preliminary injunction against Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. to keep the Israeli drug maker from launching a generic extended-release version of the antibiotic Biaxin.

Judge David Coar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago granted Abbott's request, in a move that could keep Teva from launching its generic version until the outcome of a patent trial, which could start late this year or early next year....
