Bayer Can’t Ship Reinstated Whistleblower 500 Miles Away

Law360, New York (May 5, 2015, 4:27 PM EDT) -- An Arkansas federal judge admonished Bayer Corp. Monday for trying to comply with a court order to reinstate a whistleblower allegedly fired for unveiling a customer's Medicaid fraud scheme by offering him a new position 500 miles away.

U.S. District Court Judge James M. Moody Jr. granted plaintiff Mike Townsend's bid to enforce judgment to reinstate him to a comparable position to the one he held as a sales representative before he was fired in 2010 for allegedly calling attention to a Medicaid fraud scheme by an Arkansas doctor and major Bayer customer who illicitly billed for intrauterine contraceptives.
