Ex-Novartis Worker's Suit Tossed For Deceiving NJ Court
Law360, New York (August 18, 2016, 9:41 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey federal judge tossed a disability discrimination lawsuit against Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. from a former employee Monday after defense counsel uncovered that she lied during the litigation about not working elsewhere while she was being paid $1.2 million from Novartis.
U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton dismissed Afoluso Adesanya's lawsuit and granted summary judgment on some counterclaims made by Novartis, finding that Adesanyay misrepresented her work history when she applied to the company and then violated her employment contract by accepting outside pharmaceutical consulting jobs.
