Massachusetts Patent Litigation Is Speeding Up

Law360 (July 2, 2018, 2:06 PM EDT) -- The United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts issued Local Rule 16.6, for the “Scheduling and Procedures in Patent Infringement Cases,” back in the mid-2000s. One decade later, it was time to reconsider and refresh that rule. And so, in January of 2017, the court created the Local Rule 16.6 Revision Committee, composed of three members of the court — Judge Richard Stearns, Judge George O’Toole and Magistrate Judge Marianne Bowler — and 10 patent litigation practitioners from the district.
