AA, US Air Push For Nov. Trial Date As Opposition Mounts

Law360, New York (August 22, 2013, 7:31 PM EDT) -- American Airlines Inc. and US Airways Group Inc. on Thursday pushed for a November trial date for the U.S. Department of Justice's challenge to their $11 billion merger to bring American out of bankruptcy as local officials and business groups complained that the suit threatened jobs.

The carriers asked the court overseeing the newly filed case to schedule the trial to begin Nov. 12, saying they anticipated the process would take 10 days.
