Deals Rumor Mill: Toshiba, EDF, Ducati

By Benjamin Horney (May 19, 2017, 3:20 PM EDT) -- Second-round bids for Toshiba Corp.'s multibillion-dollar memory chip business were due by the end of this week, according to a report from Reuters on Friday. According to the report, Broadcom Ltd. and Silver Lake Partners LP have teamed up to make an offer, as have Bain Capital and SK Hynix Inc. KKR & Co. LP may still be in the running as well, although it was not clear whether the private equity giant made a second-round bid. If KKR does bid, it will team with the Innovation Network Corp. of Japan, the report said. The memory chip business is expected to be worth at least 2 trillion yen ($18 billion). Previous reports have said bids could go up to 2.5 trillion yen or more....
