Mich. Tribe Takes DOI Recognition Suit To Supreme Court

Circuit decision that the tribe can't reorganize until it has asked the U.S. Department of the Interior for recognition, arguing that the tribe never lost the federal recognition it received under an 1855 treaty and shouldn't have to undergo a lengthy DOI review now....
