NM Water Deal Objectors Booted From 10th Circ.

Law360, New York (January 10, 2017, 5:24 PM EST) -- A Tenth Circuit panel refused Monday to hear an appeal from a group of objectors over a district judge's approval of a water rights settlement between the state of New Mexico, four pueblos and the city and county of Santa Fe, finding that the approval was not a final judgment.

The objectors had challenged U.S. District Judge William P. Johnson's September decision to stick with his March approval of the settlement, which was reached in 2013 between the government entities, non-Native water users and the pueblos...
