Tribe Hits Pharma Cos. Over Opioid Crisis

Law360, New York (December 6, 2017, 9:48 PM EST) -- The St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin accused a host of companies in a federal lawsuit on Wednesday of purposefully minimizing, concealing or misrepresenting a nationwide epidemic of prescription opioid abuse.

The suit, filed in Wisconsin federal court, said that multiple companies — such as McKesson Corp., Cardinal Health Inc., AmerisourceBergen Corp., CVS Health Corp., Purdue Pharma LP and others — were not only motivated to keep the epidemic going but make it bigger for the purpose of profit.
