Prosecutors Aim To Halt SEC Suit Against Blockchain Duo
By Bill Wichert (April 2, 2020, 2:55 PM EDT) -- Prosecutors urged a New Jersey federal court Thursday to pause a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission suit alleging two people with a blockchain technology company tricked investors in raising $30 million in cash and cryptocurrency, claiming a stay was needed to protect the integrity of a parallel criminal matter against them.
The U.S. attorney's office for the Garden State moved to intervene in and slam the brakes on the SEC action against Edith Pardo, Boaz Manor, CG Blockchain Inc. and a related entity until the conclusion of a criminal case against Pardo and Manor over the alleged scheme.
