Simpson-Steered PE Shop Amasses $10.2B Across 2 Funds

Law360 (January 14, 2021, 10:20 AM EST) -- New Mountain Capital, working with Simpson Thacher, said Thursday that it has wrapped up two private equity funds totaling more than $10.2 billion in capital commitments, with plans to target investments in an array of industries, including life sciences, health care technologies and data and analytics.

The funds from New Mountain Capital LLC, billed as New Mountain Partners VI LP and Strategic Equity Fund I LP, closed at $9.6 billion and $640 million, respectively. The former is the firm's sixth flagship private equity fund, while the latter is its first vehicle focused on minority investments.
