DC Preschool Accused Of Enabling Sexual Abuse Of Children

By Y. Peter Kang (April 16, 2019, 10:18 PM EDT) -- A well-known Washington, D.C., synagogue operating a preschool has been hit with a civil suit accusing it of failing to prevent an assistant teacher from sexually abusing young children over a two-year period.

Families of eight unnamed children anonymously filed suit late Monday in the D.C. Superior Court accusing Washington Hebrew Congregation and Deborah "DJ" Schneider Jensen, the head of its Early Childhood Center, of negligently hiring an assistant teacher and ignoring certain warning signs, which allowed him to sexually abuse students aged 2 to 4 years old during a two-year period ending in August.
