Roche Asks NJ High Court To Kick Judge Off Accutane Suits
By Greg Ryan (August 16, 2013, 7:21 PM EDT) -- Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. urged New Jersey's highest court Friday to review a state judge's refusal to recuse herself from personal injury litigation over the acne drug Accutane, saying she continued to appear biased against the drugmaker.
Roche asked the New Jersey Supreme Court for leave to appeal Judge Carol Higbee's denial of its motion seeking her recusal from the litigation, which includes more than 7,700 lawsuits claiming Accutane users developed inflammatory bowel disease and other injuries as a result of taking the drug.
