Taylor Fresh Foods Targeted In Suit Over Illness Outbreak

Inc. and a Texas Mexican restaurant were hit with a lawsuit last week alleging they distributed and served food contaminated with an intestinal infection-causing parasite, contributing to a nationwide outbreak of the foodborne illness.

Plaintiffs Kennon Smith and Lyndsay Smith, in a complaint filed in Texas state court, said Taylor, Mex Luna and Bob's Taco Station negligently  imported, manufactured, distributed and marketed salad ingredients contaminated with Cyclospora cayetanensis and failed to warn consumers of the danger.
