High Court Wants SG's Views In Medtronic Pain Pump Row

By Sindhu Sundar (October 7, 2013, 4:03 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday indicated in a single-line order that it is seeking the views of the U.S. Solicitor General in a dispute between Medtronic Inc. and a paraplegic man claiming his use of a Medtronic pain pump caused an inflammatory condition that led to his paralysis.

The high court — which has yet to grant Medtronic's May petition for certiorari that challenges the Ninth Circuit's January ruling in favor of Arizona man Richard Stengel — is asking for the government's views on the dispute, according to its order Monday.
