J&J Pelvic Mesh Plaintiffs Want Cases Kept In Philly

By Matt Fair (October 8, 2014, 2:37 PM EDT) -- Nearly 120 plaintiffs pursuing claims against Johnson & Johnson over alleged injuries from pelvic mesh implants have told a Pennsylvania judge that the company's significant business ties to the state should allow them to continue litigating their cases in Philadelphia County court.

While J&J and subsidiary Ethicon Inc. filed a motion in September seeking dismissal of the cases based on the plaintiffs' lack of ties to Pennsylvania, the plaintiffs shot back on Monday in a brief saying that the company was subject to general jurisdiction in the state due to its business dealing there.
