Graco To End NHTSA Car Seat Recall Investigation For $10M

By Sindhu Sundar (March 20, 2015, 7:55 PM EDT) -- Graco Children's Products Inc. has agreed to pay $10 million to settle an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration into a potential delay in its recall of millions of car seats that allegedly posed a buckle problem that could trap children in the seats, regulators said Friday.

Under the terms of the settlement, Graco will pay a $3 million fine, and spend at least $7 million in the next five years improving safety, according to a statement Friday by the NHTSA.
