Samsung Sued Over Man's Smartphone Explosion Injuries

Law360, Los Angeles (September 14, 2016, 10:23 PM EDT) -- A man who claims his Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone exploded in his pocket and caused third-degree burns  sued the Korean electronics giant in New Jersey state court, just days after the company issued a massive recall for its similar Galaxy Note 7 product after dozens caught fire.

California resident Daniel Ramirez lodged the consumer fraud and negligence suit against Samsung Electronics Co. and its New Jersey-based U.S. subsidiary, claiming his smartphone exploded and caught fire in his pocket while he was at work at a construction site in Ohio last March.
