J&J Settlement Ends Latest Pa. Risperdal Case Before Trial

By Matt Fair (November 2, 2016, 4:32 PM EDT) -- Johnson & Johnson agreed to an undisclosed settlement in order to avoid a trial that was slated to begin in Pennsylvania state court on Monday in the latest case over abnormal breast growth that adolescent boys claim they have suffered after taking the antipsychotic drug Risperdal.

The case, which was lodged by the family of a boy — identified only as "N.F." — who allegedly began using Risperdal at age six to treat symptoms of Asperger's syndrome, was marked as settled by a Philadelphia County judge last Thursday.
