Trump Backs Bipartisan Attack On Surprise Medical Bills

Law360 (May 9, 2019, 8:11 PM EDT) -- President Donald Trump on Thursday threw his weight behind bipartisan efforts to protect patients from sticker shock at hospitals, labs and physician offices, upping the odds that Congress this year will tackle surprise medical billing.

In remarks at the White House, the president said that out-of-the-blue charges for health care services have "ruined people's lives" and that Congress should act to "hold insurance companies and hospitals totally accountable."
