GOP Sen. Slams DOJ For Refusing To Prosecute Holder

Law360, New York (June 29, 2012, 5:35 PM EDT) -- Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, harshly criticized the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia on Friday for failing to prosecute Attorney General Eric Holder for contempt of Congress, saying the prosecutor had not shown independence and had acted too quickly.

In a sharply worded letter, the senator questioned how U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen Jr. had determined that Holder's conduct was not a crime and that no action toward prosecuting him needed to be taken because he hadn't reviewed the documents he had been faulted for withholding....
