Calif. GMO Labeling Bill Could Fuel Consumer Suit Frenzy

Law360, San Diego (March 28, 2014, 10:50 PM EDT) -- A California bill mandating labels on genetically engineered food cleared its first hurdle in the state Legislature this week, and experts say that if it becomes law, it could spur a tidal wave of consumer class actions in much the same way California's Proposition 65 has bred suits alleging failure to post warnings of health risks from toxic chemicals.
