$17M Settlement Gets OK In Auction Co. Shareholder Suit

Law360 (June 21, 2018, 7:31 PM EDT) -- A D.C. federal judge on Thursday granted preliminary approval of a $17 million settlement between online auctioneer Liquidity Services Inc. and shareholders who allege it misled them about its retail division’s growth.

Chief U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell said the settlement was “fair, reasonable and adequate” for the investors who’d claimed the company and its CEO and chief financial officer’s purported misstatements about the retail division’s growth led them to purchase shares that later plunged 30 percent when the company disclosed the division’s losses....
