NFL Players Union Inks Deal With Wearable Tech Biz

Law360, New York (April 25, 2017, 3:28 PM EDT) -- The National Football League Players Association said Tuesday that its recently launched business accelerator has inked a deal with Whoop Inc. that will provide players with wearable fitness tracking devices and ownership of the data they collect.

The agreement comes through OneTeam Collective, a business incubator launched by the players union in December that looks to help emerging sports-related companies grow by leveraging the licensing rights and advice of pro athletes. The union said in a statement that the deal will see every current and incoming NFL player receive devices that track their strain, recovery and sleep then transmit the information...
