Biz Optimism Is Waning With Trump Inaction On Tax Reform

Law360, New York (April 17, 2017, 10:56 PM EDT) -- Businesses that entered 2017 with a high degree of optimism for the prospects of tax reform are now feeling increasingly uncertain following President Donald Trump's latest decision to once again put tax reform on hold while going back to reworking health care policies.

Overhauling the federal tax code — criticized across the political spectrum for having uncompetitively high rates and encouraging businesses to shift their profits and operations overseas — was a key plank of Trump's election campaign, and in early February, he promised a "phenomenal" tax plan would be announced within two to three weeks.

That promise did not materialize...
