HTC Beats Apple Smartphone Patent Claims In UK Court

Law360, New York (July 5, 2012, 1:21 PM EDT) -- A U.K. court on Wednesday delivered a big win to HTC Corp. in its ongoing patent fight with Apple Inc., finding that a group of the Silicon Valley giant's European smartphone patents are either invalid or not infringed by HTC.

The Honorable Mr. Justice Christopher David Floyd of the High Court of Justice absolved HTC of allegations it infringed four smartphone patents related to Apple's slide-to-unlock feature and other mobile device functionality, finding either that HTC's contested smartphone and tablet devices do not infringe the patents...
