FTC Head Awaiting Google's Entry Into Do-Not-Track Fray

Law360, New York (July 10, 2012, 9:41 PM EDT) -- Federal Trade Commission Chairman Jon Leibowitz told Law360 he was eagerly awaiting the unveiling of Google Inc.'s proposed do-not-track standard, and was hopeful that companies doing business online will reach an industrywide standard for protecting consumers' information by year's end.

Leibowitz revealed in an interview with Law360 that the agency was “optimistically looking forward to” proposals expected this week from both Google and the Center for Democracy and Technology to address the agency's call for a self-regulatory standard curbing unwanted collection and sharing of information online....
