Deals Rumor Mill: Verizon, Toshiba, Ferrara Candy

By Benjamin Horney (February 15, 2017, 6:43 PM EST) -- Verizon Communications Inc. and Yahoo Inc. are on the verge of sealing a revised deal that would see Verizon pay about $4.5 billion to acquire Yahoo's core internet business, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday. That's $300 million less than the original price tag agreed on last summer, when the two companies inked a $4.8 billion agreement prior to the cyberattack that caused Verizon to hit the pause button. The two sides are in talks concerning future liabilities that could come up due to the data breach, the report said, and if an agreement is struck soon, the transaction could close as early as April....
