Imaging Technology Patents Spur Two New Lawsuits

Law360 (May 23, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. is the target of a federal lawsuit in Delaware, which alleges that Samsung’s cellular phones deliberately and harmfully infringe on two patents held by Fujinon Corp.

Saitama, Japan-based Fujinon claims that at least 19 of Samsung’s products encroach on two patents which cover imaging lens technology, and that Samsung has encouraged others to infringe on those patents as well. Samsung’s misconduct, the lawsuit says, resulted in Samsung’s unlawful enrichment as well as “irreparable damage” to Fujinon.
