Ex-Citgo Exec Says She Was Fired Over Kickback Refusal

Law360 (May 16, 2019, 8:49 PM EDT) -- The former vice president of human resources for Citgo has sued the oil giant, alleging she was fired by its then-chief executive officer in 2017 after refusing to participate in three illegal kickback schemes.

In a 27-page amended lawsuit filed in state district court in Houston on Wednesday, Marisol Gomez fleshed out the allegations she had originally brought against the Venezuelan state-controlled Citgo in February. Gomez's original petition, just eight pages long, only detailed one alleged kickback scheme.
