Texas Court Won't Knock Out Firm In Pecan Co. Divorce
Law360, Dallas (August 17, 2017, 4:36 PM EDT) -- A Texas appeals court on Wednesday rejected arguments that the law firm Ray McChristian & Jeans PC should have been disqualified from representing a wife in a divorce action against an executive of U.S. Pecan Trading Co. Ltd. based on a previous representation of the company.
U.S. Pecan and related entities had asked the Eighth Court of Appeals to disqualify Ray McChristian from representing Marcela Atkinson on the grounds that Ray McChristian attorney Robert Edwards had previously represented the company while working at a different firm.
