Aide To Pa. Congressman Accused Of 2nd Campaign Scheme

Bob Brady, D-Pa., already facing federal charges for an illicit campaign contribution aimed at easing a rival off the ballot in the 2012 congressional primary, was charged Tuesday with campaign finance improprieties on behalf of a different congressional candidate in 2014.

Kenneth Smukler, 57, faces additional charges for allegedly overseeing nearly $230,000 in illegal payments to another unnamed candidate who unsuccessfully sought the Democratic nomination for a different House seat, according to federal prosecutors.
