L3 Nets $392M Night-Vision Goggle Contract With DOD

Law360 (May 17, 2018, 8:23 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Defense announced it has awarded L3 Technologies Inc. a $391.8 million contract to design and develop an enhanced night-vision goggle binocular over the next three years. 

The hybrid contract, awarded by the U.S. Army Contracting Command in Maryland on Wednesday, will see the New Hampshire-based company outfit the Army with its durable, lightweight folding binoculars. The goggles feature two tubes, which the company says improves situational awareness compared with single-tube goggles. The dual-tube goggles were developed from an earlier L3 product used in active combat. In case of failure, a single tube can be used.
