Watchdog Knocks VA’s Oversight Of Docs' Performance

Law360, New York (November 27, 2017, 6:53 PM EST) -- The Department of Veterans Affairs' process for reporting and removing its doctors when quality or safety concerns arise needs work, the Government Accountability Office found in a report published Monday.

The GAO recommended that the VA, which employs some 40,000 doctors and dentists nationwide, more thoroughly document and set deadlines for its medical centers’ personnel reviews when quality or safety concerns about specific physicians arise.
