Fed. Circ. Ships Nintendo Patent Case From Texas To Wash.

Law360, New York (June 25, 2014, 2:36 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit ruled Wednesday that an Eastern District of Texas judge wrongly denied Nintendo of America Inc.'s request to have a patent case against it transferred to its home turf in Washington state, saying that it is "indisputable" that the case did not belong in Texas.

The appeals court granted Nintendo's petition for a writ of mandamus and ordered U.S. District Judge J. Rodney Gilstrap to transfer Secure Axcess LLC's case against Nintendo to the Western District of Washington. It also ordered him to stay...
