NJ High Court Will Hear Farmland Preservation Row

Law360, New York (March 20, 2017, 4:54 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey Supreme Court has agreed to review an Appellate Division’s decision that further findings were necessary to determine if a commercial farmer ran afoul of state soil conservation rules by tampering with preserved land to build greenhouses, according to an order released Monday.

The justices granted the petitions by all parties in the lawsuit in which the state and Hunterdon County alleged Quaker Valley Farms LLC illegally destroyed land in violation of the Agriculture Retention and Development Act.
