Schooner Petroleum Struck With WARN Action

Law360, New York (May 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Schooner Petroleum Services Inc. has been hit with a putative class action alleging the company failed to adequately notify employees before announcing a mass layoff in February.

The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, alleges the company breached the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act by not providing the requisite 60 days written notice before ordering the reduction in force.
