Singapore Biofuel Trader Wants $25M Verdict Filed Outside NY

Law360, New York (January 17, 2018, 5:01 PM EST) -- A Singapore biofuel trader asked a New York federal judge Tuesday for permission to register out of state a $25.3 million judgment issued over a fuel contract dispute, arguing that the company it was awarded against has sizable assets in Utah and California.

Though a records search indicates that Washakie Renewable Energy LLC lacks assets in New York, the Utah-based biofuel producer owns a state-of-the-art production facility in Utah and may have $35 million sitting in a California bank, LifeTree Trading Pte. Ltd. told the court....
