Facing Massive Litigation, Refco Gets A Breather

Law360, New York (September 13, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bankrupt futures broker Refco Inc. has scored a small victory in its Chapter 11 case, after a judge granted the firm more time to seek removal of civil actions filed against it.

Judge Robert Drain, who is overseeing the case in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, granted Refco’s motion, extending the deadline until Dec. 12.
