Kelsey Grammer, Disney Off Hook For IP Claims

Law360, New York (May 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed a claim alleging the movie "Swing Vote" infringes the copyright for a film treatment touting itself as the “'Animal House' of politics,” but has allowed state fraud and unfair competition claims to stand for now.

On Monday, Judge Joseph Bianco of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York ruled that “Swing Vote” doesn't infringe the copyright for movie treatment and amplification “Go November.”
