Surging Tax Receipts, Polls Lure States Into Pot Debate

Law360 (March 16, 2018, 2:23 PM EDT) -- One of the few things growing faster than tax receipts from legalized marijuana, experts say, is the breadth of state legislation currently being considered that would allow the adult recreational use of cannabis.

Although eight states now regulate and tax pot similarly to alcohol, according to the Marijuana Policy Project, 20 other states and the District of Columbia are looking to join their ranks and are currently debating legislation to legalize marijuana for adults over age 21.
