Cablevision Settles Pay Dispute

Law360 (September 15, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Cablevision Systems Corp. is dishing out $400,000 to settle U.S. Labor Department claims that it failed to pay around 2,400 temporary workers for the hours they worked.

The DOL's investigation into the matter stemmed from another employment lawsuit that the cable company settled confidentially last year, according to Newsday.

That case alleged that Cablevision neglected to pay around 1,000 permanent company employees for the correct total number of hours they worked. The suit also alleged that the company refused to pay workers overtime when they worked...
