Policy Doesn't Cover $10M Shooting Award: Insurer

Law360 (May 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- First Mercury Insurance Co. has sued Texas Professional Security Services, seeking a judgment that the insurer is not required to pay a $10 million default judgment against the security outfit in connection with a 2005 nightclub shooting in Dallas.

First Mercury, a unit of First Mercury Financial Corp., filed its complaint Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, claiming it has no liability for the judgment against the security services company under a $1 million policy.
